This post came a little late, but late better than none hehe.
Finally we are back from our HK vacation, and I have to admit (as always), I'm soooo not motivated now that our holiday is over and we have to get down to serious work =( Nonetheless, I enjoyed myself so very much during the 9D8N with you in HK. Thanks for all these very wonderful memories you have given me.
It would definitely be good that we could have 2 short getaways twice a year and 2 long(er) vacations half yearly, this will then mean that we will have 'motivation' every quarterly. Well, perhaps this is also quite overboard cuz we would not have sufficient annual leave (and $$$) for all these.
What we did over the 9 days in HK (correct me if I am wrong!)
Friday 15 Apr 2011
Reached Changi Airport at about 1.45pm. Took the 3.05pm flight on SQ A380 flight to HK and reached HK at about 7pm. Took the airport express and finally reached Royal Plaza Hotel at about 7.45pm, and by the time we checked into our room, it was about 8pm. We got a free room upgrade and I so love the extra space we got in our room. Spacious bathroom, spacious bed, all I love!
After unloading our barangs in our room, we went off for our dinner at Freshness Burger which was located at Century Place that was connected to our hotel building. Then off we went for our 'walk' round our hotel vicinity. Went to Fa Yuen Street, Sai Yee Street, Goldfish Market and many other streets. After that we called it a day.
Saturday 16 April 2011
Got up at 9am, bathe and had our breakfast in our room before starting our day of shopping and MORE shopping! Citygate Outlet Mall at Tung Chung, Lantau Island was our first destination of our first day. We both spent lavishly on branded goods that day. Ralph Lauren polo tees, Coach, Kate Spade handbags were on our list and we got it. We are so in love with outlet malls from then on. Took MTR and went to Prudential Building at Jordan to buy B's miniature aircraft.
Dinner was done back Mongkok area, at an eatery that was warm inside but blew cold wind when door was opened by customers who came in and went out. Had my first bowl of shuijiao mian, and B had his bowl of pork cutlet noodle.
Sunday 17 April 2011
Usual time to wake up for the next few days was 9am, and breakfast in room before leaving for our 'adventures' at about 10.30am.
Had initially wanted to go to The Peak on this evening but decided to make some changes to our plan. And fortunately we did! Cuz it drizzled for half the day that noon, and it could have been much of a dampener to drizzle if we really did go to The Peak!
We went to Harbour City instead, and other malls around there, bought our HK-Macau ferry tickets on China Ferry Terminal. Ended up at Avenue of Stars and witnessing the 30th Golden Horse Awards there and then. Lots of Hong Kong artistes were there but was too far to be seen clearly. Walked on and then had dinner at Sogo. By the time dinner was done, it was kinda late? Went back hotel after that to pack our barangs to bring to Macau for the next 2 nights.
Monday 17 April 2011
We reached the ferry terminal earlier and hence took the 11.30am ferry flight to Macau. Hop on the hotel shuttle bus and reached Royal Hotel earlier than the check-in time. Left our stuff with the hotel concierge and we went for our lunch at an eatery near our hotel, and strolled back to do our check-in. I shall skip the much-unhappy part on the check-in (and check-out).
Was not given a free room upgrade at the Macau hotel, but fortunately the room was quite comfy.
Had a short break in the room before walking to St. Paul's Ruins, Senado Square, Fishermen's Wharf and finally ended up at Venetian Macau. We took the hotel shuttle bus to Sands Casino and Hotel, and took the shuttle bus to Venetian Macau. It was really "wow!" in Venetian Macau. Hotel, casino and shopping all housed under one big building.
Late dinner at Venetian foodcourt and then we continued to explore the place again before taking the shuttle bus back to Sands and back to our hotel to zzz.
Tuesday 18 April 2011
It was a half-a-day affair in Zhuhai's Gongbei Underground shopping mall. Bought our wedding lamps, angbaos and other wedding stuff there (and in HK). Took a cab to Zhuhai and back Macau after finishing our shopping there. Managed to eat the much-craved portuguese egg tarts. Still as yummylicious even though we tabao-ed back to our hotel room to eat. Then we had a little nap cuz the big piglet wants to zzz abit, and so we did. Went to City of Dreams that evening and then ended up back at Venetian again, and not forgetting, someone got his Ralph Lauren tee purchases again o! =P
Wednesday 19 April 2011
Took a ferry from Macau back to Hong Kong. That day was spent at Mongkok area. Managed to find out the location of the Toilet Restaurant at Mongkok MPM Building, but we did not get to eat it because these Toilet Restaurants in HK were ordered to cease operation due to financial issues. It was not a bad thing to miss eating at the Toilet Restaurant because we got to eat at Tsui Wah Restaurant instead! I'm so so so missing their crispy ju zai bao! Gotta try doing it out at our own house next time! =P
Walked to Langham Mall which had nothing much that interest us. Ended up at Argyle Centre and I made quite some purchases =) Went back to hotel thereafter to rest for the day.
Thursday 20 April 2011
Had our sumptuous Dim Sum breakfast at a restaurant at Century Place building. Then we went off to Fa Yuen Sportswear Street. Got back to our hotel room to rest abit and put our 'victory items' in the room before making our way to Central MTR to take The Peak Tram up to The Peak. The tram ride up and down was quite a thrill to me. It was so scenic up at The Peak. We walked about abit and decided to have a nice dinner at a restaurant with a nice view. We chose to go western that evening and had hot soup, grilled scallop sticks and spaghetti. It was good and romantic enough to have such dinner with the lovely companion up high at such a beautiful place with good view of the HK skyscrapers.
After dinner, we went for our photo-taking session with the wax "stars" at Madam Tussards Museum, and then to the Observatory Deck to view the skyline of HK. Beautiful is the one word to describe.
On the way back, we had supper at Tsui Wah's Restaurant again and B had pork cutlet burger while I had my crispy ju zai bao (again).
Friday 21 April 2011
Had porridge for breakfast at one of the eatery that specialises in selling porridge, you tiao and dou jiang. And as if shopping at outlet mall wasn't enough, we went back to Citygate Outlet Mall again. Off to Jardine's Crescent and Times Square at Causeway Bay. Had roast pigeon and other nice food for dinner. Walked on a little took the MTR back to hotel to rest. On our way back, we 'tabao-ed' Haagen Daz icecream back to room to makan.

Last day of our vacation in HK. Our flight back to Sg was on the 3.25pm flight. We got up slightly earlier as we had the intention to have roast goose meat at Tai Hing Roast Restaurant @ Goldfish street, but sadly, they don't serve their roast meat till 11am. We ended having breakfast at their restaurant. B had their beef noodles while I had Tai Hing version of ju zai bao =P
Had last minute shopping around Mongkok area and then went back to Tai Hing at about 10.45am for the roast goose that we were craving for. Indeed it did not disappoint =)
Journey to HKIA was smooth. Need not blog on this =P Same for the flight back to Sg.
This sums up our HK vacation. I greatly enjoyed myself and would love more more MORE vacations with you.
Now I'm kinda geared up on the pending US trip. Our Real Honeymoon =)
